Chapter one: not so far from home

The plan set, the route planned and the campsite booked. Tomorrow I will be taking on the first adventure of a 10 km hike followed by a night of camping, Chris invited along to join me opts for a bike ride to the camp site, we plan the kit and as we were going together we decide to ditch the tarp as he could carry the tent, the bonus of this it won't impact my kit list.  On route I had made plans to take on some Geocaching, there were quite a few on the path I had picked and most of the route was familiar to me as I had been down it before. Saturday morning came the bag was sorted, breakfast eaten and clothes ready to go, It wasn't a super early start which gave me a chance to finish any odd jobs before leaving.  The route itself was 10 km of trails, cycle paths, field crossing and country lanes, the weather was pretty warm and nice and dry, and added bonus to the route. I took water on route and snacks to nibble on. I had removed some of the items i knew i definitely wo...

The Adventure bag challenge

Welcome to the Prologue.  This is where i explain a little bit about what I am doing, why I am doing this and the rules around the challenge! Connected with each Chapter of this adventure story is a video to watch as I go on 12 months of as many adventures as possible with one kit list!  So let's start at the beginning. That's it the seed was pl...

Where did the month go....

This last month has been busy....and so will the next month, and the next month and likely the next one after that! However the journey I am on is an exciting one, stressful but exciting.  The last few weeks have been more work that workout and less adventures that I would like, my plan of an adventure a month hasn't really settled in.  What I have done though us done some epic runs so far, one round Worcester, well I say round, more uphill and I went to a fantastic talk about the psychology of serial killers! I love a good crime shoe and I've always been fascinated by science and psychology so it was right up my ally! I'm booked on for another in October!  My rebel badges have been ticking off nicely but some of the bigger ones I wanted to start like stargazing I have had to put a stop to while I completely revamp my routine, with the new job there has been a lot of changes and I need to find what works for me now.  This weekend I also went trainspotting, well...
