Sunday morning date ride.....

Hey guys, Welcome back to the Blog!

This week's adventure sees us visit the ock street fair, usual work stuff, dinner, a show and a Sunday bike ride date for coffee.

The fair lasts just two days and runs the whole length of Ock street in Abingdon, officially called the Michaelmas fair it is the longest street fair in Europe. It comes round every year and being residents of ock street it is right outside our door, two evenings of fun fair food, treats and walks up and down, as well as late nights due to the noise and later morning starts to make up the sleep.

We usually go on the waltzers but this year I wasn't really feeling it so we mostly just took a wander, got some food and treats and chilled with some TV, the cold I spent most the previous weekend fighting off hadn't gone, and even as I write this now a week later its still not fully gone, but its nearing the end.

The rest of the week wasn't really much different to normal, in fact the only change really was that i did more walking this week mostly due to the fair, but i have adjusted my training to throw in more walking commutes.

Roll around to the weekend and Saturday was a day of adventure sort of. Kick start with an early more coffee shop stop and breakfast with some TV then lunch out at ask Italian, courtesy of a gift card from mummy last year, In the evening we went to go and see the dark room by John Robertson, honestly I haven't laughed that much in a long time, my jaw ached, my stomach hurt and I was crying with laughter! We thoroughly enjoyed the show and will go back next time hes round or were close enough to attend one.

Sunday morning, the day I'm writing this was date ride day, we often choose days where we go out together on a short-ish bike ride usually with a coffee shop break in the middle or at the end and just enjoy a gentle ride, chatting away taking in the views and enjoying the mostly quiet roads, its a great was for both of us to get some easy training in, spend time together and get out moving first thing. Plus there is coffee.

So i suppose as i get to the end of this blog it's actually been quite a busy week? Next week we have a smaller fair in town, I'm going to park run with my friend and I'm fairly certain i have something booked in for Sunday but I can't remember what it is.

Anyhow, I'm going to head off to finish up some jobs before a chill afternoon.

Thanks for reading,

Scribble back,

Love from

Where did my baby go?

(contains amazon associates link)  Hey guys, it's been a while!  My last post was a little before my return to work, were are now half way through  2025!  So where are we? Well little man isn't so little, at 16 months he is in full blown toddler hood, we walk, run, climb, scream, babble, and have super sass (gets that from me), we get frustrated at not being able to do things but want to be into doing everything! He has been at nursery for about 7 months now and has fully settled in found his confidence and loves every day! We have had our fair share of illnesses, accidents and art work and we are currently preparing for the transition to the next room.  As for me, I've settled into being a Mama and a Teacher, I've reflected on my life and started making adjustments, I have also had my fair share of illnesses (though not as many as the boy) and I'm surviving, not quite thriving, but getting closer to the threshold.  What have we been up to? Lately? trying t...

Merry Christmas and here's to 2024

As 2023 comes to an end and the Festivities have been in full swing, I want to take a moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.  This year has been filled with mini adventures, the challenges of pregnancy, the journey of navigating a new job role and fitting in general health and well being as well. As for 2024 well that is a whole new adventure!  In my older years i have never really been one for new years resolutions but i do like the idea of making commitments and agreements with myself, and each year they are usually just things that i want to continue working on to continue to support and improve myself, so rather than giving up chocolate or hitting the gym every day I usually focus on things like, lets make sure i focus on my sleep routine, take on more adventures and make sure i move a little daily.  These are normally my big three, there are may things I want to work on and goals come and go, things change and plans get adjusted, fo...

Lets start a new adventure.

This is only the second time I have had to face him crying as I left him. The first made sense, he was overtired and hadn't napped. This one was a different cry, this was a protest because he knew I was going to walk out the door and not be there. This one hurt me. I do however have the benefit of seeing it from both sides, there is a skill to dropping your child off at nursery the first few times, you have to remain calm, confident, make it quick.  If you linger too long, look nervous or get upset they pick up on it. Quick drop offs help everyone, parents don't linger and get upset as long, babies are easier to settle and nursery workers get more time bonding.  Seeing the sadness hurts though, the cry is different, it hits heart strings you never knew you owned, and you hold back the tears till you're out of view. I cried all the way into town and then some more whilst I ate fried egg on toast.  Deep down I know he's fine, I know he will settle and get distracted a...
