Adventuring out for some time in the park

Hey guys, Jessie here, todays blog is a look back over our short adventure in the park for a coffee date with my little man!

Living in the flat the first challenge was getting out, not an issue with the use of the sling but with the pushchair it is a whole different ball game. Hubby was on hand but as he is due back at work soon I needed to trial getting me, baby, bag and pushchair all down two flights of stairs. Cue comedic tunes.

With a bit of trial and error for where to place the front wheel that needs to come off to fully fold it down and trialling the best way to carry him and it we made it down in one peice! (And following the coffee date back up in one peice)

We headed out for a walk around the park followed by a stop in the shade to enjoy some time outside, I picked up this handy little travel picnic blanket on amazon for camping and wanted to test it, it's good for what it is and I can't complain for the size and price.

Whilst he rested in the pushchair I prepped my coffee and got him some milk ready for if he wanted it then got him out so we could just chill on the mat together, we listened to a bit of music together and just enjoyed being in the outside.

Wanting a feed sooner than his bottle was cooled down I ended up breast feeding him and using his bottle when we got home.

The set up was really simple and didn't require much more than the usual daily bag set up, in fact the only
additional was the hot water and formula and that's something I take on a long journey any way.

The extending wake periods were filled with listening to music cuddles, smelling flowers and bubbles, before snuggling in for a feed whilst i drank my coffee and enjoyed the serotonin boost of the outdoors and being close to my boy. Short coffee date done and some good time outside we headed back for some family time with 'da!'

Tips for getting outside

-Plan and get your bag ready with what ever you need based on what you are doing.

-Don't worry about the weather just pick clothes that will keep you and baby warm and dry, embrace nature and remember there us no such thing as bad weather just poor clothing.

-Leave the toys at home, there is plenty to explore outside for all ages.

Though I will add I did take the bubbles not just for him but bubbles are a great way to calm and soothe adults especially in high stress situations. I even kept emergency bubbles on my desk at work! Try it next time your struggling grab a pack of bubbles and spend a few minutes blowing them!

So that's that weeks blog we will be back with our next adventure soon.

Thanks for reading

Scribble back

Love Jessie

Solo bike ride and Squirrels

Hey guys,  Welcome back to the adventure blog! A weekly Blog where I share with you my adventures through sports, fitness, life and everything in between! This week I want to share my first solo bike ride, well it's sort of my first solo bike ride.  Okay so background check, its not my first time riding solo on a bike, I use to do it to and from work, and I've been round the park several times on my own, and growing up back home I was always out on the bike, but this was my first solo bike ride that was just a bike ride, not a commute, but a self navigated bike ride, on a road bike, by myself.  I am not as confident a cyclist as i was growing up, but growing up I always stuck to paths or trails and there were a lot less cars, where I live now is busier for cars and I generally try to stay off the path unless its a cycle path, this has meant working my way through building my confidence on a bike.  Chris has taken me out on several bike rides, some long ones som...

Wind down week and keeping plants alive......

Double post this weekend guys! (only just got round to posting my Halloween one)  This week has been a mostly chilled one with a week of lighter work outs and more rest before I kick start my first hard week of three, I'm going to be following a three weeks on one week off system, so 3 weeks of harder efforts and then an easier week, the easier week will still have runs and rides, just a lower intensity.  This week I have also been working on my plants, I dropped a small fortune on plant care stuff, pots and an orchid but I finally have everything i need to complete my indoor gardener badge, so all i have to do now is keep them alive till January.... If you're wondering what i am on about talking about badges, I am working through the Rebel Badge book  a book that gives you tasks to do to earn badges much like scouts or guides but for adults! Its a fun little book with a great community around it.  So one expensive shopping trip and a huge mess later I have all...

Where did my baby go?

(contains amazon associates link)  Hey guys, it's been a while!  My last post was a little before my return to work, were are now half way through  2025!  So where are we? Well little man isn't so little, at 16 months he is in full blown toddler hood, we walk, run, climb, scream, babble, and have super sass (gets that from me), we get frustrated at not being able to do things but want to be into doing everything! He has been at nursery for about 7 months now and has fully settled in found his confidence and loves every day! We have had our fair share of illnesses, accidents and art work and we are currently preparing for the transition to the next room.  As for me, I've settled into being a Mama and a Teacher, I've reflected on my life and started making adjustments, I have also had my fair share of illnesses (though not as many as the boy) and I'm surviving, not quite thriving, but getting closer to the threshold.  What have we been up to? Lately? trying t...
