Where has the time gone

Just a short post today, Life has been busy!  We are now 7 months old! Where has the time gone! We have 2 sets of teeth, we roll and spin around to get into everything, we have started eating real food and I don't think it will be long before we have a crawler!  The reality of him growing older too quick isn't just in how fast it has gone in a blink of and eye but also how little time I have left before I have to return to work and I won't get my long lay ins with him, my fun days out and being able to enjoy my time with him rather than cram it all in during an evening.  Saying that the last seven months hasn't been smooth sailing, babies are hard! You get over one thing and BAM another swings in and smacks you in the gut. Constant feeds, sleep regression, teething, rolling, sitting (sort of), weaning, crawling the list never ends! Each one a challenge and a reward in its own right!  As for me? we I'm running sort of, Halloween week has been a busy one so runni...

Three months and teething

(Contains amazon affiliate links)  Three months old, a couple of rough weeks, a very tired mama and little man won't settle! A sudden sharpness as he noms on my hand reveals why!  Teething!  So as if the universe didn't have enough to throw at this mama with a couple rough weeks, broken husband and sleep regression we now have teething in the mix!  I was taken by surprise at this, I didn't have teething on my mind for at least another couple of months, but they can infact start teething from around 3 months, this comes with additional challenges.  A 3 month old baby doesn't have the same level of grasp as a 5/6month old baby, so whilst an older baby can hold a teether for a long time and get a really good chew little man just got frustrated.  Another challenge is you can't use bongela till 6 months! Fortunately there are other options, we found Ashton and parsons really helpful which is fine from 3 months, this is in both a gel and a powder.  So ...

Gravel gone wrong-family life challenges

Picture the scene. Glorious sunny day, long lazy morning, breakfast out and a walk through the charming grounds of Salisbury cathedral, quick check of little mans diary to see when he's next due a nap only to find a missed phone call from hubby.... So last weekend we headed to Salisbury for hubby to take part in a gravel race, the plan being little man and I enjoy Salisbury for the most of it and then meet him at the finish, join in the festivities then make our way home. What actually happened? Mama got a missed call just before lunch, called back to find out hubby had crashed and was in hospital, assessing the damage we had a break, broken leg, which when I got there we learned was a broken femur.  The next few hours were a mess of sorting accommodation for me and little man, getting his car back home, tracking down his bike and then waiting for hubby to come out of surgery, but at this point we really didn't know what the next few days were going to look like.  I mad...
